I have been ballroom dancing since February of 2007. The only reason I became interested in dancing was because of "Dancing With the Stars". At first I started at a local studio, then switched to Arthur Murray full time.
I dance the Waltz, Foxtrot, Swing, Rumba, Cha-Cha, Salsa, Samba, and Tango. At least those are the dances in my "program" at Arthur Murray. I have also danced a bit of Mambo, Merengue, and Hustle as well. There are really only six dances I know well: Waltz, Foxtrot, Cha-Cha, Rumba, Swing, and Tango.
I think now, after a little over a year dancing, that the Cha-Cha is my all-time favorite dance! I also love the Samba, Salsa, and the Rumba. I respect the Rumba, and cannot do it very well, but I do love it.
My favorite smooth dance is the Tango. Again, it is very difficult for me, but I respect the dance and the talent that goes behind performing it well.
At this point, I have to say that Latin is my favorite. I never thought I would enjoy the Latin dances, but I do!
I have also enjoyed attending many official Dancesport competitions in my area, including the Virginia Dancesport Competition, and the Capital Dancesport Chamionships.

Our local dance classes have been discontinued for the summer. I really miss them but, with all this heat and everyone going on vacation, it was just a few of us going to class every week. The classes will be restarted in September. I can't wait for them to start again.

(Of course, in my defense, I was not expecting to do rumba, I actually asked to work on samba, lol!) But I don't want to "make excuses" for myself! And I do most definitely think WAY too much...I'm always anticipating what's coming next...and I have a hard time being led! That's my major challenge. I left feeling a little discouraged, but I'll get over it! ;)

He was pretty upset with me for "forgetting" so much! Oh well, maybe if Karina ever comes around my area, I should take a lesson with her!! :)

There aren't words to describe what it is like giving birth. Now I need to dance back in shape..lol. I met Maks when I was pregnant about 6 weeks ago. The sponsors would not let me pose for a pic with him though. He was very charming and seems to like kids.
