Mark and Kristi...

Information

Mark and Kristi...

I was very impressed with Kristi this season, and wonder if DWTS will change for the coming seasons. She has definitely raised the "bar" for the stars coming after her... want to re-live and enjoy those performances again... and hope that you do too

I do agree with you Marion.. I do believe that they should allow celebs with prior dance experience participate... it would be interesting to see if they can take direction from the pros, and adjust accordingly... actually one can't get away from dance experience... most parents place their kids in dance classes from ballet to tap... to cultural dance. Plus it's not a guarantee that the person would win...

With Kristi winning the competition this season, first I was very happy that a female finally won!! For me, it raised an important question, should athletes be allowed to compete? Athletes have learnt to be competitive and they are used to the training and being coached.. does this give them an unfair advantage? With olympic athletes, they know that the competition is NOT a sprint BUT a marathon... Kristi even stated it during the season. Most olympic athletes know that they are competing to qualify to go to the olympics, and the competitions in-between are ways to get to the olympics.... and they train accordingly. Is this an unfair advantage, and should they be barred from DWTS? And I have also read quite a bit of comments that Kristi had an unfair advantage because she was a figure skater, and she was just taking her performance as a skater to the dancing floor... skating is more technical (yes, there are artistic marks but for tricks that are done (e.g. spins))... If Kristi had an advantage, it was due to the technical aspect of dancing but not to the performance... that she learnt with Mark. I do give quite a bit of credit to Mark who brought out the performer in Kristi (how many world and olympic champions have you seen that smile through their routine)... In life, we all have an advantage somehow, someway.. it's how we use that advantage... so should athletes be allowed to compete? Definitely... athletes "legitimize" the DWTS into a competition, otherwise it would be just be a show full of performances, and they also raise the "bar" in how it is being performed.... athletes are usually technically very good... they have learnt that they must be in their in respective sport,... and on DWTS, they must now prove that they can perform and entertain.... and they have the stamina to keep up with the competition BUT do the other stars have the stamina... it really pushes the limits of the participants... and makes for an excellent competition!!

Would love to hear what you think... and plus please enjoy the performances by Mark and Kristi again,..... I just could not pick a favorite one... I loved all of them!! And I have to say... of all the seasons, I really loved this one the best... I just really felt that the stars were more in-tuned with each other... very supportive than the other seasons... especially the three finalists.. Jason, Cristian, and Kristi... what do you think?
