Welcome to Amature Dancers Support Forum

Here are some of our members!
I have created this group on BDC Social for all of the members here who have started taking Ballroom dance lessons. For whatever reason you were moved to start taking Ballroom lessons as an adult. If you have been a student for a few months, a year, or have just started, this is the group for you! Come brag about your accomplishments, or cry about your perceived trip-ups on the dance floor. Seek encouragement and give support where needed to others in your situation.
Advanced dancers are also welcomed. We would benefit from your experience and wisdom!

And I also want to encourage men to join. It would be great to hear about dance related issues from a man's persepctive as well.

Hay Sandy! Welcome to the group. It's best if you post your question as a new "discussion" as opposed to a comment. I don't really know why the groups have a comment section anyway, as the discussion section fills that need.

Anyway, in reply to your question - in the beginning you will find it difficult to figure out what dance to do with what music. That is just the way it is. As you gain more experience you will be able to master this skill. I know that is not the greatest answer, but really that is how it works!

Looking forward to reading through comments. Hubby & I started ballroom a few months ago. We are doing well, but on summer break, as our classes are at a local college. Our next session begins in the Fall. We have been practicing our moves, which are still sometimes weird to me.

Any one have any suggestions as to how to know what dance to do with what music???? Of course, I've bought some CD's that have specific music for specific dances, but I'm still not sure how to figure out what music is right for what dance.

Thanks for any help.
