Welcome Home : Ballroom Dance Channel's BDC Social

I have finally watched DWTS episodes fully through,... and this is a good season. Donnie, I really like him (he's better than Marie)... more charisma.. Natalie,.. she has the technique but has not gotten into the "performance" of the dance,.. and I wonder IF she will?? She is in one of those sports where she needs to keep a poker's face.. can she change for DWTS?? Louis.. I love him.. that smile just melts away anything plus he has charm.. Michael, I'm a dallas cowboys fan,.. enough said.. Aaron, he's just too cute,... and I can say the same about OMG!! I forgot her name.. Louie's partner.. Osbourne girl (brain fart)... Kelly.. she's not just cute... but quite funny. She is having fun, and am loving it!! Mark and Melissa are coming around,.. and Joanna, well, I didn't like her "crybaby" comments after the dance.. and it reminded me of the competition during the summer... it happens.. Derek got sick, Maks stepped in.. it's part of life. Mya.. she definitely is the frontrunner right now,.. but my question and concern.. is her stamina,.. and last night,.. I was wondering IF she was getting overconfident??? Either way,.. each celebrity is not off from the top... they have to overcome one of the big three... technical, performance, and stamina,.. the celebrity who does this.. will win in my opinion...

What do y'all think?? :o)

Whew! Too many contestants, too little quality dancing. Now that we are at Week 8,let's hope the pace and the payoff in entertainment picks up.

We have lost some truly good contenders because the field was just too big to keep them all in. I'm so sorry that Natalie Coughlin was unable to stick around long enough to develop the performance side of her dancing, and that funny Debi Mazar had to leave so early she never did get over the early jitters. Melissa Joan Hart was unable to wow on the dancefloor either, and left just before Mark DeCascos.

Mark D was a charming and athletic contender who fell to the flu (Lacy's) and yet was not saved when he still had so much yet to show us. The sweethearts of the season seem to have been the bruisers -- Michael Irwin and UFC's Chuck Liddell and that delightful snowboarder, Louie Vito. These were all nice folks with varying degrees of dancing potential, but their sheer numbers (along with the 5 remaining) overwhelmed and confused me. Voting was split so many ways that it was impossible to predict or affect the outcome in the beginning. That has not been fun.

The season just didn't have a Gilles or a Christian (hunky dancers) and the loss of Maksim and Tony D lowered the masculinity factor way too low for comfort.

We're now in the final five and facing two "ringers" in Mya and Donny Osmond. Of the two, Donny is truly showing very high showmanship marks and each dance he and Kym give us is a delight from a viewer's point of view. Mya has unexplicably had a long period of remaining aloof and has rested on her technical dancing proficiency rather than wowing us until this week.

The remaining three include one who dances well (Aaron Carter) but who has offended many with his immature behavior. Kelly Osbourne has yet to dance really well, but she has a large fanbase and is cute as the devil. And finally, Joanna Krupa, the gorgeous model with the fair-haired "golden boy" of DWTS -- Derek H -- an apparent stockholder in the BBC or ABC or DWTS by the way he is favored by producers and judges alike. Nice guy, but WTF?

Bottom line, this Season is a Mell of A Hess -- With either the ringers or the "chosen one" slated to take the trophy and provide the yawniest conclusion to this "meh" season.

Anyone have a clearer take on the goings on? Anyone simply blown away by the season's machinations with elimination, dances, and contests? OMG do I miss Maks, Cheryl, and Tony D!!! At least Maks' blogs give us some grounding.
