Of course they were the better team! But it was up to the viewers to vote.. as much as I was out asking
friends, family & strangers to vote. and voting on line..it wasn't enough!
Sorry Maksim! I really wanted Mel & you to hold that trophy!
But You both are the real winners to me!!!!
You made every week enjoyable to watch. This was the best season ever on DWTS!!!!

I most definitely agree and they should've won that trophy, but regardless, they'll always be "WINNERS" and have us as friends forever. I think a lot of Maks, and his charming personality just sets him high up there on a winner's pedestal. He's talented in his craft as a pro ballroom dance and full of style with class, and I admire him for that....

I still think fans voted for the whole package, meaning Helio.... never performing before made great progress, entertained, and had a great personality. Mel had an awesome personality, danced great, she too improved so much, but if you look on other blogs, people kept saying that she had experience performing with the spice girls, and Helio had none and.... America loves the underdog. I was saddened a bit myself. It wasn't about technique or ability, it was about the whole package. I think Marie's overwhelming fan base kind of screwed up everything about the voting process this year, and took away from the show.... Mel should be so proud. She was awesome and always brought joy to the program. I believe America did embrace her.

Clearly DWTS is 25% actual dance talent and 75% friends, family and fanatics. The fact that Mel B. and Maks got to the final two means that they REALLY are the best dancers of the group (though I must admit, Sabrina Bryan and Mark Ballas instead of Marie and Jonathan would have made that a better final three).

The good news is that we got to watch Mel and Maks dance all the way to the final night--just beautiful! Yes, Melanie, America loves you!

I agree as well. I voted like crazy Monday night. I thought, "I'm pretty sure they've got it made, but I'll vote every way I can just to be on the safe side." I called, I texted, and voted online with every email address I could think of! Mel and Maks definately worked hard to make it that far and proved every night on the dance floor that they deserved to win it all. My heart sank and felt like I got punched in the gut after the results were revealed. I even had some anger brewing inside of me as well because I can totally empathize with them. I've competed in various sports and competitions and know what it feels like to put forth everything you've got and more, only to feel the bittersweetness of making it to the finals, then getting robbed.

On the other hand, part of me does feel terrible that I feel this way because I do like Helio and his contagious smile/happy-go-lucky charm. He and Julianne did a great job and were fun to watch, but looking at the competition from start to finish, Melanie and Maksim were the obvious winners - disco ball trophy or not.

I also really liked Jane and Tony this season .... that lift they got so much .... *grrr* about was so stupid they had to zoom the picture and even then it wasn't even an inch off the floor for less that one second B O G U S
